Step 2 of Group Coaching Mastery: Create Your Group Program Structure in 3 Steps
Why Structure Matters
As online coaches, we know how important it is to have a clear structure for our programs. This not only helps us stay organized but also ensures our clients can follow along and achieve their goals. Let's break down the three key components of your group program structure: length, calls/events, and deliverables.
Determine the Length of Your Program
The first step is deciding the duration of your program. I recommend a timeframe of **4 to 12 weeks**. Here’s why:
Focused Learning: Shorter durations keep clients engaged and motivated.
Community Building: A set period allows for stronger connections among group members.
Flexibility: If clients need more time, you can offer additional cohorts or extend the program.
Keep it simple.
If your clients can't achieve their goals in this timeframe, consider simplifying the goals rather than extending the program length.
Plan the Number of Calls and Events
Next, decide how often you’ll meet with your group. The frequency of calls or events depends on the level of support your clients need:
Weekly Calls: Ideal for newer entrepreneurs who need regular check-ins and support.
Bi-weekly Calls: Better for more established clients who might not need constant interaction.
In addition to group calls, consider incorporating events like:
Co-working Sessions: Provide focused work time with accountability.
Q&A Sessions: Allow clients to ask questions and get immediate feedback.
Office Hours: Offer dedicated times for personalized support.
Start with a manageable number of events and adjust based on client feedback and attendance.
Define Your Deliverables
Deliverables are the tangible and intangible items your clients receive during the program. These can include:
Group Calls: Regularly scheduled sessions where you provide coaching and guidance.
Learning Tools: Tutorials, worksheets, or guides that supplement the coaching sessions.
Experiences: Guest expert sessions, one-to-one mini-sessions, or specialized workshops.
To create a list of deliverables:
Inventory Your Assets: Review what you already have, such as recorded tutorials, guides, or audio tracks.
Align with Program Goals: Ensure that each deliverable supports the overall objectives of your program.
By leveraging existing materials, you can streamline content creation and focus on delivering value.
Putting It All Together And Creating A Group Coaching Program
Now that you’ve outlined the length, calls/events, and deliverables, you have a solid structure for your group coaching program. Here’s a quick recap:
Length: Choose a duration between 4 to 12 weeks.
Calls/Events: Decide on the frequency based on client needs.
Deliverables: List out all the tangible and intangible items your clients will receive.
With these elements in place, you’re well on your way to creating a structured, results-driven group coaching program.
